The recently appointed Head Chef, Matthew Briddon, has put The Milking Parlour firmly on the culinary map.
We have come up with a winter offer that we hope will tempt you to come and try his cooking and stay a night.
Matthew comes with over 10 years’ experience in some of the top UK kitchens.
He trained at River cottage and then honed his skills working as sous chef for the Michelin starred Heathcotes Restaurant. He was quickly promoted to Head chef where he ran the kitchen of this busy award winning restaurant.
“I am really excited to join the team at The Old Manor. I plan to use the hotels kitchen garden to grow and much as possible and we are planning to put free range chicken and rare breed pigs in the 2 acre paddock.
I am looking to offer what we are calling farmhouse dining, using local ingredients to showcase some old fashioned classics.”

Homemade soup, warm bread with house butter
Farmhouse terrine, apple mustard and homemade soda bread
Pickled beetroots, whipped goat’s cheese, roast nuts, brown bread and garden herb crumb
Hay smoked salmon, pea salad and hand chopped tartar sauce
Manor faggots, Coleman’s mustard mash, wilted greens with caramelized onion and tomato and herb gravy
