The Old Manor with its farming heritage has a closer link than most with Trowbridge wildlife and the environment.
We have 3 bee hives, the occasional Gloucester Old Spot pigs, 35 +/- hens and we are working on getting our own heffer.
Deer have been seen in the fields and our chickens and baby ducks in the spring give regular tweet updates! Some Ring Ouzel has been seen in Trowbridge, thanks http://www.wiltshirebirds.co.uk for the picture below; if you see any Trowbridge wildlife while your in the area we would love to start a gallery just here. Maybe a photographers corner.Let us have your photos of any Trowbridge wildlife you have seen while staying and a dinner for two the person with the best photo. email them please with your name to ; friends@oldmanorhotel.com
We recycle the jam jars and have drastically cut back on our paper usage.
For all your jam jar recycling questions please see our coordinator Linda.
Some thoughts from RSPB -below If you see a Ring Ouzel or any other rare birds please blog here. We are expanding our pond features and have seen herons during the course of the year.
“We have special recycling bins for cardboard and bottles. The company truck is an old Ford diesel truck which we are considering altering to run on chip fat and for occasional use a Morris Miner pick up and 1920′s Austin 7 van. We have been invited to be the first hotel in Bradford on Avon to have a charge point for electric car. So we are all very economical and green friendly”
